MINISTRY OF POWER<br />
NHPC<br />
In NHPC the representation <strong>of</strong> SC/ST employees are<br />
comfortable. In the cases <strong>of</strong> recruitment and promotion,<br />
Government directives in Reservation Policies are<br />
being followed and rosters are maintained to monitor<br />
the status. However, during the period 01.4.2005 to<br />
31.12.2005, no <strong>of</strong>fer <strong>of</strong> appointment has been issued<br />
from Corporate Office/Recruitment Section.<br />
• “Awareness programmes” for SC/ST/OBC employees in<br />
each <strong>of</strong> the Substations, Offices have been conducted<br />
to clear their doubts on Reservation Policy.<br />
• Adequate representation <strong>of</strong> SC/ST employees has<br />
been given in internal training.<br />
• Action on awareness programme on SC/ST is<br />
contemplated in near future.<br />
PFC<br />
The Corporation has been making necessary efforts<br />
to discharge its obligations satisfactorily in terms <strong>of</strong><br />
REC<br />
government guidelines, as applicable towards economically<br />
and socially weaker communities such as SC/ST/OBC etc.<br />
The steps taken include conduct <strong>of</strong> special drives to fill the<br />
positions earmarked for them, maintenance <strong>of</strong> necessary<br />
records and such other provisions as applicable.<br />
THDC<br />
The Corporation has a manpower strength <strong>of</strong> 2384<br />
employees comprising <strong>of</strong> 559 Executives, 303 Supervisors<br />
and 1486 Workmen. Under Government <strong>of</strong> India Directives,<br />
two Special Recruitment Drives for filling up the backlog<br />
vacancies for SC/ST were implemented meticulously<br />
during the period.<br />
SJVNL<br />
The strength <strong>of</strong> SC, ST and OBC employees as on the<br />
above date was 158, 35 and 68. Special recruitment<br />
drive is being undertaken to fill up the vacancies in these<br />
categories.<br />
