MINISTRY OF POWER<br />
NATIONAL POWER TRAINING INSTITUTE (NPTI)<br />
National <strong>Power</strong> Training Institute, a Registered Society set<br />
up by the Govt. <strong>of</strong> India under the <strong>Ministry</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Power</strong>, is<br />
committed towards the development <strong>of</strong> Human Resources<br />
in Indian <strong>Power</strong> & Energy Sectors. NPTI with its Corporate<br />
Centre at Faridabad operates on an all India basis through<br />
its five Regional Institute located in Nayveli, Durgapur, New<br />
Delhi, Nagpur, Guwahati and specilalized Centres viz.,<br />
<strong>Power</strong> System Training Institute (PSTI) & Hot Line Training<br />
Centre (HLTC) at Bangalore, a Centre for Advanced<br />
Management and <strong>Power</strong> Studies (CAMPS)<br />
All the regional Institutes are well equipped with world class<br />
Hi-Tech infrastructural facilities for conducting different<br />
courses on technical as well as management subjects<br />
catering to the needs to Thermal, Hydro, Nuclear <strong>Power</strong><br />
Plants, Transmission & Distribution systems and Energy<br />
related fields.<br />
NPTI has established two 210 MW & one 500 MW real-time,<br />
full scope and PC based Thermal <strong>Power</strong> Plant Training<br />
simulators for <strong>of</strong>f-job, hands-on training for betterment<br />
<strong>of</strong> plant operation standards. The Load Desatcher<br />
Training Simulator at the <strong>Power</strong> Systems Training Institute,<br />
Bangalore is geared up to meet the training demands <strong>of</strong><br />
the <strong>Power</strong> System Management. A Combined Cycle Gas<br />
Turbine simulator has also been set up at NPTI Corporate<br />
Office, Faridabad.<br />

The Hot Line Training Centre at Bangalore imparts training<br />
on Live Line Maintenance Techniques on Transmission<br />
Lines upto 400 kV level — a unique facility available<br />
only at NPTI. A Geographical Information System (GIS)<br />
Resource Centre housing Hi-tech Training Tools for<br />
training consultancy in the area <strong>of</strong> GIS based Electricity<br />
Distribution Network Planning and Management at a<br />
cost <strong>of</strong> Rs. 123.7 lacs has been commissioned at NPTI<br />
Corporate Office, Faridabad.<br />
NPTI has nearly 4 decades <strong>of</strong> Pr<strong>of</strong>essional Expertise in<br />
the field <strong>of</strong> Training, Education and HRD in <strong>Power</strong> Sector.<br />
Since its inception NPTI has shared its engineering and<br />
technology expertise with more than 1,00,000 <strong>Power</strong><br />
Pr<strong>of</strong>essionals besides covering 1,20,000 persons in its<br />
mass awareness programs on Energy Conservation,<br />
<strong>Power</strong> Reforms, Electrical Safety, Energy-Environment<br />
Interface, Water for Sustainable <strong>Power</strong> across the country.<br />
NPTI has pioneered unique sector-specific innovative<br />
programs (duty approved by AICTE, New Delhi) such as<br />
B.E. in <strong>Power</strong> Engineering, Post Graduate Diploma Course<br />
in Thermal <strong>Power</strong> Plant Engineering and First ever MBA<br />
in <strong>Power</strong> Management. All the students <strong>of</strong> the first two<br />
batches <strong>of</strong> MBA in <strong>Power</strong> Management being conducted<br />
by CAMPS, NPTI, Faridabad were picked up through<br />
campus recruitment by renowned companies like CRISIL,<br />
PWC, KPMG, NDPL, Reliance Energy, Secure Meters,<br />
Adani Exports, KLG Systel, TIFAC, University <strong>of</strong> Petroleum<br />
& Energy Studies, UJVNL, Noida <strong>Power</strong>, Tata <strong>Power</strong> etc.<br />
