a successful way of life in ever-changing economic and social
conditions.
During all times the aim of schools has been to prepare students
for their further lives. But what kind of life is it going to be?
What should we teach? How should we do that? Educators find
it important to predict the future: they are trying to anticipate the
potential need of the newest technologies. However it is not possible
to predict everything and teachers themselves were actually
trained to teach differently. This is why now they have to acquire
not only new technological skills (such as information communication
technologies (ICT) which were not needed in the past)
but also a different way of thinking which is based on creativity,
experimental and continuous learning.
Therefore, the aim of schools is not only to keep up with
the changing world, but also create a proper learning environment
which would encourage the processes of cognition and creativity.
Such an environment helps teachers and students experiment with
new teaching and learning means and methods; encourages independent
ways of learning; enables to evaluate something that has
been created by students themselves and look for links between
different subjects; initiates ample school events and projects.
When educating creative and mature personalities, teachers
need to constantly rethink their roles in the process of education
and adopt them according to various teaching/learning situations,
needs and conditions. They also have to try to inspire students to
study creatively and effectively in their usual surroundings; to use
the newest media and technologies. These tasks are certainly hard
to achieve but at the same time they are highly rewarding – it is
a further step in education with a new perspective towards teaching
quality which in widely known as innovative teaching. Innovative
teaching is a way of teaching chosen by a teacher which helps
achieve a concrete aim of teaching and reach results in a particular
educational environment or a specific context. This is done by using
available resources bearing in mind different experiences and
unique features of both students and teachers. Innovative teaching
