If the processor board, the PLC and graphics board, the CLP boards or EPROMs are to be exchanged, a MOS<br />

protection is definitely required, as otherwise MOS components on the boards or EPROMs may be destroyed.<br />

Note:<br />

Avoid any unprotected handling or contact of the boards or EPROMs with statically charged objects<br />

(packaging material, storage etc.).<br />

Exchange units (complete logic unit) are generally supplied with the latest software version. Exchange boards<br />

however, are always supplied without software and without software protection module.<br />

For this reason, the EPROMs and the software enable module of the defective board must be inserted into<br />

the exchange board at site (see sec. 19.9). Before sending us exchange boards for repair, always remove the<br />

EPROMs and the software enable module.
