(57) Abstract :<br />

The present invention discloses a sleep aiding device for babies which comprises a Hammock-type structure, Bassinet (11). The<br />

Bassinet (11) is operated via an automated arrangement comprising, an AC Motor(12) <strong>of</strong> 200 Watts The rotary speed <strong>of</strong> the AC<br />

Motor (12) is decreased from 1400 rpm to 14 rpm using pulleys (13) operating in conjunction with belt drive (14). The rotary<br />

motion <strong>of</strong> the AC Motor (12) is converted into the oscillatory sleep aiding motion by means <strong>of</strong> pulleys (13) operating in<br />

conjunction with belt drive (14). The speed <strong>of</strong> the sleep aiding device is controllable using fan regulator <strong>of</strong> the conventional type.<br />

Rocking motion <strong>of</strong> conventional cradle(s) is simulated by transfer <strong>of</strong> oscillatory motion to rope (16) connected to Bassinet<br />

(11).The whole arrangement <strong>of</strong> motor (12) <strong>and</strong> pulleys (13) operating in conjunction with belt drive (14) is mounted on platform<br />

(15) fixable to a stationary surface e.g., ro<strong>of</strong>.<br />
