(57) Abstract :
The present invention relates to a method of making a catalyst for use in oligomerizing an olefin, comprising a chromiumcontaining
compound, a pyrrole-containing compound, a non-halide metal alkyl, a metal haUde-containing compound, and
optionally a solvent, the method comprising: (a) contacting a composition comprising the chrornium-containing compound and a
composition comprising a portion of the non-halide metal alkyl, wherein the composition comprising the chromium-containing
compound is added to the composition comprising the non-halide metal alkyl, and (b) subsequently contacting the components
from (a) with a composition comprising the metal halide-containing compound and the remaining components of the catalyst
compound including a remaining portion of the non-halide metal alkyl.
