(57) Abstract :<br />

A biopesticidal formulation is encompassing the extracts <strong>of</strong> Oceanobacillus sp. (MTCC 8720), Bacillus pumilus (ATCC 7061),<br />

Streptomyces graminearus (NRRL B-16369) <strong>and</strong> Streptomyces hygroscopicus (ATCC 27438) is provided. The invention also<br />

relates to a process for the preparation <strong>of</strong> the biopesticidal formulation. Further, the invention provides a method for protecting or<br />

treating plants by applying an effective amount <strong>of</strong> the claimed biopesticidal formulation to plants or to the soil. Furthermore, the<br />

invention provides a method for controlling or killing pests by applying to the pests or to the locus <strong>of</strong> the pests an insecticidally<br />

effective amount <strong>of</strong> a culture <strong>of</strong> microbes or its strains, variants or mutants there<strong>of</strong>. The invention also relates to a plant growth<br />

promoting response leading to higher biomass production <strong>and</strong> yield.<br />
