An image processing apparatus includes an image processing unit configured to perform image processing, a storage unit
configured to be capable of storing an application program installed in the image processing apparatus, a first determination unit
configured to determine whether the application program had ever been installed in the image processing apparatus, and a control
unit configured to selectively control the image processing unit to be operable and control the image processing unit not to operate
according to the determination by the first determination unit if an error has occurred in the storage unit.
