I attended an Open Day in December 2008
and I was shocked to see the graphics that
were misleading presented to the public.
These graphic mock-ups, computer
graphics were out of scale and were
purposely shrunk to create the perception
that these multi storey building are in fact
fitting to the neighbourhood. This
constitutes a fraud and I will prove this in
court should it go so far
The picture depicting alternative 6 on page
3 of the draft report does not represent the
true height of the building in the
background. It appears as if the building is
of the same height as the light or telephone
poles on the right of the picture whereas it
should be at least twice the height of the
poles. The picture should show in the
boldest print that " this is an artist's
representation and is not depicted to scale"
At this juncture, it is important to note that,
notwithstanding such concerns having been
repeatedly raised, there still exist grave
concerns about the veracity of the super
imposed illustrations of the proposed
development on the photographs included
in the draft EIR. For example, the height of
the proposed development is grossly played
down in the photographs.
Pictures of true scale of the proposed
building must be presented to the public to
enable them to make an informed decision.
The draft EIA Report mislead the I&AP as it
uses distorted images for the building not to
look as so high.

throughout the EIA process. This issue was
raised at the Public Meeting on the 31

Disagree, the images that were used by
Stauch Vorster were scaled appropriately.
This has been confirmed in section 2.5 and
5.2.5 of the FEIR. These images were also
used by the visual impact assessor during the
visual impact assessment (Annexure G of the
FEIR).
