The draft EIA Report does not provide sufficient information to truly consider the effect of the proposed design on erf 848, the surroundings and on Struisbaai as a whole. Why do you publish the names and postal addresses of the Interested and affected parties? E-mails are just another method of communicating and are far cheaper, we may wish to use it for our concerns about the proposed development. Or is it that Aurecon not interested in facilitating communication for all parties? Your comment is appreciated. Aurecon will accept comments via email, letter, fax or verbal. It is however important to note that it is best practice to submit comments in writing (hardcopy or electronic) as this will be included in the documentation to the decision-making authority. Strongly disagree. Refer to Section 2.5 of the FEIR. It is a requirement of the DEA&DP Public Participation Guidelines to compile and maintain an I&AP register which should be included in the documentation. As a matter of standard practice Aurecon does not publish email addresses of registered I&APs without obtaining permission first. Aurecon believes that it is in the interests of registered I&APs privacy. Then we will see if you are legally compliant and if all our detailed objections are attached. The EIA suggest that there is support by I&APs who are they and how do they benefit financially? Another misrepresentation you make that clearly shows your prejudice towards the developer which is “owing to the public interest and concern relating to the alternatives presented during the scoping phase, the proponent proposed another alternative, a multi-level…alternative 6”. Again, send me the letters or emails from people supporting the multi-level development. I am an active member of the Struisbaai Homeowner Association who‟s every member are against the multi-level development. I do not know if my comments are fair or even useful but I'm honest and thank you for inviting me for my opinion on this matter. My property is located approximately 150 meters away from the proposed development. It is evident in the Draft Environmental Impact Assessment Report that the compilers of the report have a positive inclination towards the proposed development. The objectivity of the compilers/consultants is questionable. Additional comments will be submitted via email. You are making a big mistake if you think the proposed development would have no impact or a medium impact as you have suggested. All comments received are included in the submission(s) made to the decision-making authority. All documentation to date has included all original comments and this will be maintained throughout the process. As professional EAPs we strive to ensure that all relevant information and comments received are provided to the decision-making authority for due consideration. Please refer to this Comment and Response Report to see who is in favour of the development. Aurecon is not prejudice towards any particular outcome for this EIA process, we are appointed only to undertake the legal process and submit information for decisionmaking. . The additional alternative (Alternative 6) was the proponent‟s response to the extremely negative reactions which emanated from the initial round of engagement especially relating to the 4 and 6 storey solid buildings options. I&APs comments in support and in opposition to the proposed development are contained in the various EIA Comment and Response Reports. All comments are welcomed during the EIA process. The Environmental Assessment Practitioner has maintained independence and all conclusions are based on specialist findings and information available at the time of compilation. Please refer to the FEIR for detailed assessment.
