The mission of the Office of International Programs is<br />

to promote international education at IU <strong>South</strong> <strong>Bend</strong><br />

so that all students can achieve global literacy, to open<br />

international opportunities for students and faculty, and<br />

to foster international understanding and awareness for<br />

the campus as well as for the larger community.<br />

The office administers IU <strong>South</strong> <strong>Bend</strong> study-abroad<br />

programs and advises students on <strong>Indiana</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />

study-abroad opportunities. Students interested in<br />

studying abroad should speak with the director of<br />

international programs. The Office of International<br />

Programs also oversees the certificate of international<br />

studies and the minor in international studies.<br />

The director of international programs serves as advisor<br />

to the International Student Organization, whose office<br />

is in the Jordan International Center.<br />

The Office of International Student Services offers<br />

admissions processing, immigration advisement,<br />

support services, counsel, and programming for all<br />

international students from applicant through alumni<br />

status. A trained staff supports international students<br />

as they settle into the community and assists in locating<br />

the resources they require to succeed academically. All<br />

student applicants who hold a United States visa or<br />

have been educated at the high school or collegiate level<br />

outside the United States should contact the Office of<br />

International Student Services when seeking admission.<br />

The Office of Judicial Affairs educates the campus<br />

and adjudicates violations of The <strong>Indiana</strong> <strong>University</strong><br />

Code of Student Rights, Responsibilities, and Conduct<br />

hereinafter referred to as The Code. The office advocates<br />

for students. The goals of the office are:<br />

• To promote a campus environment that supports the<br />

overall education of the university<br />

• To protect the university community from disruption<br />

and harm<br />

• To encourage appropriate standards of individual and<br />

group behavior<br />

• To foster ethical values and civic virtues<br />

• To foster personal learning and growth while holding<br />

individuals and groups accountable to the standards or<br />

expectations established in The Code<br />

Students may reference The Code at www.dsa.indiana.<br />

edu/Code. The procedures for IU <strong>South</strong> <strong>Bend</strong> may be<br />

found at www.iusb.edu/~judicial. It is the student’s<br />

responsibility to know of the prohibited actions such as<br />

cheating, fabrication, plagiarism, academic, and personal<br />

misconduct, and thus to avoid them. Students are<br />

expected to be familiar with The Code, as they are held to<br />

the standards outlined within the document.<br />
