Athletics and Activities<br />

The Office of Athletics and Activities houses the varsity<br />
athletic programs, the club sports program, intramural<br />
sports, fitness programs (including group fitness), and<br />
special events. Titans basketball and volleyball are<br />
flagship programs of the athletics department. Students<br />
are admitted to home games free with their IU <strong>South</strong><br />
<strong>Bend</strong> ID card. Students who want to be more involved<br />
can join the spirited student support group; or Titan<br />
Terrors, a group of students interested in facilitating<br />
athletics. The club sports program offers athletic<br />
competition, often intercollegiate, for the non-varsity<br />
athlete. Intramural sports offers a full slate of organized<br />
competitive events for the student-at-large. Fitness<br />
programs include group fitness through aerobics, yoga,<br />
pilates, express cycling, toning, and abs. Special events<br />
include one-time tournaments, extramural events, and<br />
similar activities. Additional information is available at<br />

IU <strong>South</strong> <strong>Bend</strong> encourages cocurricular activities that<br />
complement the regular academic programs of the<br />
university and aid in students’ physical, social, and<br />
intellectual development. All clubs and organizations are<br />
coordinated through the Office of Student Life. Students<br />
interested in organizing a student organization or getting<br />

The Office of Student Life works with the Student<br />
Government Association (SGA) which exists to serve<br />
and represent the students. You can reach the SGA in<br />

works with Titan Productions, a student-driven group<br />
responsible for the programming of student activities and<br />
social programming. You can contact Titan Productions<br />

The IU <strong>South</strong> <strong>Bend</strong> Student Counseling Center provides<br />
high-quality, short-term mental health counseling services<br />
to currently enrolled students who are facing obstacles to<br />
academic and personal success. Counseling can help with<br />
issues that range from coping with life’s transitions to<br />
dealing with more serious emotional concerns. Students<br />
do not have to experience serious psychological problems<br />
to access counseling center services. Qualified mental<br />
health professionals and supervised graduate students are<br />
available to assist students with any of the following issues:<br />
adjustment to college, anxiety, depression, stress and<br />
stress management, academic performance, relationship<br />
or family problems, body image and/or eating concerns,<br />
bereavement, alcohol or drug use, or other mental health<br />
concerns.<br />
The Student Counseling Center offers a comprehensive<br />
array of programs and services to the IU <strong>South</strong> <strong>Bend</strong><br />
community, including individual, group and relationship<br />
counseling; crisis assistance, assessments and referrals,<br />
consultation to faculty and staff, awareness and screening<br />
programs, classroom presentations, and online resources<br />
and assessments. Services are provided free of charge to<br />
IU <strong>South</strong> <strong>Bend</strong> students.<br />

educational benefits may be obtained at the IU <strong>South</strong><br />
<strong>Bend</strong> Office of Veteran Student Services or e-mail at<br />

Applying for VA Education Benefits<br />
National Guard Members<br />
National Guard soldiers will need to complete Form 22-<br />
1990, Application for VA Education Benefits, and have<br />
it approved by their unit commander. This form can be<br />
downloaded from www.gibill.va.gov or obtained from<br />
the unit’s education counselor. Completed forms will be<br />
processed by the Department of Veterans Affairs and<br />
eligibility letters will be mailed directly to the student.<br />
Non-National Guard Members<br />
Soldiers, sailors, marines and airmen can visit www.<br />
gibill.va.gov to apply for education benefits online.<br />
From this website, applicants should click Apply for<br />
Benefits and follow the on-screen prompts. Completed<br />
applications will be processed by the Department of<br />
Veterans Affairs and eligibility letters will be mailed<br />
directly to the student.
