P: Phase I and II of M.B.A.. Analysis<br />

and application of management science<br />

models in a business and managerial<br />

decision-making environment. Emphasis<br />

is placed on how these models are<br />

applied and interpreted by a decision<br />

maker in a wide variety of business and<br />

managerial settings. Topics include linear<br />

and nonlinear programming, integer<br />

programming, goal programming, and<br />

dynamic programming, among others.<br />

Introduction to both the macro and<br />

Personnel Management (3 cr.)<br />

P: Phase I and II of M.B.A.. An examination<br />

of the organization and administration of<br />

the personnel function. Deals with the<br />

relations of the personnel department<br />

to operating departments. Appraisal of<br />

personnel practices and policies.<br />

COMPUTER skills for management (1 cr.)<br />

The emphasis in the course is on effective<br />

design and use of spreadsheets and<br />

database management programs to assist<br />

managers in the decision making process.<br />

Students are expected to become proficient<br />

with the basic to advanced features and<br />

functions of spreadsheet and database<br />

management programs. Topics include:<br />

what-if analysis, financial and decision<br />

making functions, graphical interpretation<br />

of data, select and action queries, custom<br />

forms, and custom reports.<br />

CSCI-A 510. The course provides indepth<br />

knowledge and training in the<br />

management of information technology<br />

projects. After completing this course,<br />

students should know what must be done<br />

to complete small or large information<br />

technology projects and possess skills<br />

in the tools employed in information<br />

P: CSCI-A 505. The course provides<br />

students with knowledge and skills in<br />

the development of websites to support<br />

electronic commerce. The emphasis in<br />

the course is on effective design and<br />

implementation issues related to web<br />

applications for business. Students are<br />

expected to become conversant with the<br />

tools and techniques used by builders of<br />

websites. Topics include the technology<br />

of the Internet, core network protocols,<br />

agents, commerce client technology, and<br />

system design principles, among others.<br />
