4.15 <strong>City</strong> Council requests the Region <strong>of</strong> Durham to<br />

implement the following,<br />

CITY POLICY<br />

Regional Assistance<br />

(a) a re-examination <strong>of</strong> its proposed arterial<br />

road system as shown in the Durham<br />

Regional <strong>Official</strong> <strong>Plan</strong>,<br />

(i) to eliminate the proposed east-west<br />

arterial road connection into Markham,<br />

that crosses the West Duffins Creek<br />

south <strong>of</strong> Whitevale; D8<br />

(ii) to eliminate the proposed Rossland<br />

Road connection to Finch Avenue in<br />

<strong>Pickering</strong>, and link to Finch Avenue in<br />

Scarborough;<br />

(iii) to eliminate the proposed Bayly Street<br />

extension west <strong>of</strong> Whites Road in<br />

<strong>Pickering</strong> to link with Lawrence Avenue<br />

in Scarborough;<br />

(iv) to eliminate the proposed northerly<br />

and D11 southeasterly extensions <strong>of</strong> Dixie<br />

Road;<br />

(v) to downgrade the Type B Arterial Road<br />

designation on the existing Dixie Road<br />

to a Type C Arterial Road; D12 and<br />

(vi) to eliminate the Dixie Road Transit<br />

Spine designation, including its<br />

proposed northerly and south-easterly<br />

extensions; and replace it with a Transit<br />

Spine designation on Whites Road;<br />

(b) in consultation with the <strong>City</strong> and Province,<br />

to re-examine, and if necessary amend, its<br />

designated arterial road system in Seaton,<br />

through the planning exercise to be<br />

undertaken for the Seaton Urban Study<br />

Area; and D14<br />

(c) in consultation with the <strong>City</strong>, the Province,<br />

the Federal Government and the relevant<br />

airport authority, to re-examine, and if<br />

necessary amend, its designated arterial road<br />

system in and around the Potential Airport<br />

Site, should a decision be made to establish<br />

an airport on the lands. D15<br />

Seaton<br />

Remaining portion <strong>of</strong> Deferral 11: Part <strong>of</strong> policy 4.15(a)(iv)<br />

Deferral #7 to the Durham <strong>Plan</strong><br />
