(d) on lands designated Urban Residential Areas<br />

- Low Density Areas east and west <strong>of</strong> Whites<br />

Road, north <strong>of</strong> the Ontario Hydro Gatineau<br />

Corridor,<br />

(i) encourage a development form that<br />

takes advantage <strong>of</strong> the small, isolated<br />

pockets <strong>of</strong> land in close proximity to a<br />

Type ‘A’ arterial road, and minimizes<br />

the impact <strong>of</strong> development on the area’s<br />

natural features and functions;<br />

(ii) further to section 11.13(c) above, ensure<br />

that new roads connecting to Whites<br />

Road are designed in a manner that<br />

minimizes impacts on the area’s natural<br />

features and functions, and intersect with<br />

Whites Road at locations that do not<br />

prejudice the future construction <strong>of</strong> a<br />

Whites Road/C.P. rail line overpass; and<br />

(iii) despite the Low Density Residential<br />

Areas provision <strong>of</strong> Table 10 <strong>of</strong> Chapter<br />

Three, <strong>City</strong> Council may permit<br />

development at a residential density <strong>of</strong><br />

up to 80 units per hectare on these lands<br />

if the resulting development form<br />

demonstrates that the size characteristics<br />

and constraints are better addressed.<br />
