Is bounded by the mid-line <strong>of</strong> Frenchman's Bay, Highway<br />

401, the hydro transmission corridor, and Lake Ontario<br />

Includes significant parkland adjacent to Lake Ontario<br />

and at the south end <strong>of</strong> Sandy Beach Road<br />

Consists <strong>of</strong> a mix <strong>of</strong> 1960s (and later) detached,<br />

semi-detached, townhouse and apartment dwellings; older<br />

village development near the Bay from early 1900s; also<br />

includes three elementary schools, four neighbourhood<br />

parks, three places <strong>of</strong> worship, a community/seniors'<br />

centre, a lawn bowling facility, a library, an arena, a GO<br />

Transit station, and marinas<br />

Has neighbourhood and community shopping located on<br />

Bayly Street west <strong>of</strong> Liverpool Road; neighbourhood<br />

shopping on Krosno Boulevard near Liverpool Road, and<br />

on Bayly Street at Sandy Beach Road<br />

Has general and prestige employment areas located north<br />

and south <strong>of</strong> Bayly Street, east <strong>of</strong> Sandy Beach Road<br />

Has environmentally sensitive areas associated with<br />

Frenchman's Bay and the Lake Ontario waterfront<br />

Has four Detailed Review Areas within its boundary: (i)<br />

lands and water surrounding the existing marinas; (ii) the<br />

lands around Liverpool Road, Old Orchard Road and<br />

Krosno Boulevard; (iii) lands around the Bay Ridges<br />

Plaza, west <strong>of</strong> Liverpool Road; and (iv) lands around the<br />

GO Transit station and easterly along Bayly Street<br />

<strong>City</strong> Council has adopted development guidelines as<br />

follows:<br />

* The “Liverpool Road Waterfront Node<br />

Development Guidelines” (for lands surrounding<br />

the existing marinas)<br />

11.5 <strong>City</strong> Council shall,<br />

(a) recognize that the area generally situated<br />

from Commerce Street stretching south to<br />

the Lake Ontario shoreline, on either side <strong>of</strong><br />

Liverpool Road, exhibits a unique mix <strong>of</strong><br />

built and natural attributes that establishes<br />

the area as the ‘Liverpool Road Waterfront<br />

Node’;<br />
