CHAPTER ELEVEN -- URBAN NEIGHBOURHOODS<br />

Introduction<br />

The information contained in this chapter is supplementary<br />

to the land use information provided in Chapter Three <strong>of</strong><br />

this <strong>Plan</strong>. It provides detailed neighbourhood policies for<br />

each <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong>’s urban neighbourhoods. Additional<br />

neighbourhood policies may be added as required, by<br />

amendment to this <strong>Plan</strong>.<br />

For planning purposes, the South <strong>Pickering</strong> Urban Area is<br />

divided into fifteen neighbourhoods. Each neighbourhood<br />

is described in terms <strong>of</strong> its boundaries, overall<br />

characteristics, and land use mix. As well, neighbourhood<br />

population forecasts are provided to the year 2016.<br />

Maps 11 to 25 illustrate the boundaries <strong>of</strong> neighbourhoods,<br />

as well as other information as described in the next section.<br />
