Is bounded by the Toronto-<strong>Pickering</strong> boundary, the<br />

Ontario Hydro transmission corridor, the Altona Forest,<br />

and the C.N. rail line<br />

Is traversed by Petticoat Creek and contains most <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Altona Forest<br />

Residences on Pine Grove and Woodview Avenues<br />

established between 1900 and 1940; more recent<br />

subdivision activity occurred in the 1980s and 1990s<br />

Consists <strong>of</strong> primarily detached dwellings on large-lots;<br />

some townhouse and quattroplex dwellings; also includes<br />

three neighbourhood parks<br />

Currently, does not contain any neighbourhood shopping<br />

facilities, although future shopping facilities are anticipated<br />

at Pine Grove Avenue and Altona Road<br />

Has environmentally sensitive areas associated with the<br />

Rouge Park, the Altona Forest, and the Rouge-Duffins<br />

Wildlife Corridor to the north<br />

Has one Detailed Review Area within its boundary: lands<br />

southwest <strong>of</strong> the Pine Grove Avenue and Altona Road<br />

intersection<br />

<strong>City</strong> Council has adopted development guidelines as<br />

follows:<br />

Guidelines” (for lands at the southwest corner <strong>of</strong><br />

Pine Grove Avenue and Altona Road)<br />

(a) in the established residential areas along<br />

Pine Grove Avenue and Woodview Avenue,<br />

encourage and where possible require<br />

development to be compatible with the<br />

character <strong>of</strong> existing development and<br />

preserve to the greatest extent possible<br />

significant vegetation,<br />
