Areas Requiring Special Policies<br />

This section <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Plan</strong> contains special policies for<br />

certain areas where additional detailed policies apply.<br />

The Altona Forest Policy Area and Flood Plain Special<br />

Policy Areas are identified on Schedule III. The<br />

Community Improvement Areas include old Dunbarton<br />

Village, Claremont, Brougham and Frenchman’s Bay.<br />

The Frenchman’s Bay Community Improvement Project<br />

Area (around Bayview Street) was completed in the<br />

late 1980s.<br />

CITY POLICY<br />

Altona Forest<br />

Policy Area<br />

15.30 In its review <strong>of</strong> development proposed on<br />

lands designated Altona Forest Policy Area,<br />

on Schedule III, <strong>City</strong> Council,<br />

(a) shall encourage proponents to consult<br />

with the <strong>City</strong> and the Toronto and<br />

Region Conservation Authority prior to<br />

submitting development proposals to<br />

determine whether the lands are within<br />

the area to be acquired as part <strong>of</strong> the<br />

Altona Forest, Petticoat Creek and its<br />

tributary;<br />

(b) may require the submission <strong>of</strong> an<br />

Environmental Report, in accordance<br />

with section 15.11;<br />

(c) may require the submission <strong>of</strong> a detailed<br />

stormwater report covering the site <strong>of</strong> a<br />

proposed development and entire<br />

subcatchment area to demonstrate<br />

compliance with the comprehensive<br />

stormwater management strategy<br />

prepared for the Altona Forest Policy<br />

Area, to the satisfaction <strong>of</strong> the <strong>City</strong> and<br />

relevant agencies; and<br />

(d) may require the submission <strong>of</strong> a<br />

Construction Management Report in<br />

support <strong>of</strong> proposed development<br />

outlining site management measures to<br />

be undertaken during construction to,<br />

(i) control construction debris;<br />

(ii) prevent erosion and sedimentation;<br />

(iii) direct construction traffic;<br />

(iv) ensure public safety; and<br />

(v) address other matters as required.<br />
