PASSENGER FLYING IN THE R.A.A.F.<br />
The Naval Board have been notified by the Air Board that the following<br />
conditions will be enforced in the matter of passenger flying in the <strong>Royal</strong><br />
<strong>Australian</strong> Air Force :—<br />
(a) No passenger other than <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Australian</strong> Air Force personnel<br />
and those loaned to the R.A.A.F. from the Naval or Military<br />
Forces will be carried in Service aircraft without the authority<br />
of the Air Board.<br />
(6) Members of the Naval Forces, except those loaned to the R.A.A.F.<br />
for duty, must obtain the consent in writing of the Naval<br />
Authorities before any application for permission to be taken<br />
as a passenger will be considered by the Air Board.<br />
(c) The Naval Authorities referred to in (b) will be the Senior Naval<br />
Officer present provided he is of the rank of Captain or above<br />
and in all other cases, the Naval Board.<br />
(d) A signed statement will be taken from the Officer concerned that,<br />
unless he is undertaking flight as part of duly approved Naval<br />
duty, he does so at his own risk.<br />

OUTFIT GRATUITIES ON CHANGE OF CLASS OF UNIFORM-<br />
ROYAL NAVY RATINGS.<br />
The Outfit Gratuities payable—<br />
(a) To Petty Officers dressed as Seamen on promotion to Chief Petty<br />
Officer, and<br />
(b) To Petty Officers with four years' service as such, on change from<br />
• Class II. to Class III. Uniform<br />
are to be credited to <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Navy</strong> ratings serving on loan in the <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Australian</strong><br />
<strong>Navy</strong> at the current rates applicable to R.A.N, ratings.<br />
2. Outfit Gratuities in the ease of R.N. ratings are to be credited in the<br />
" Other Credits " column of Ship's Ledger, the proportion at the R.N. rate<br />
of Outfit Gratuity being shown as a " Credit on behalf of the Admiralty,"<br />
and the balance as a charge against the Commonwealth.<br />
3. Adjustment is to be made where necessary in respect of R.N. ratings<br />
who have become entitled to the above gratuities since 31st March, 1921.<br />
A. Paragraph 3 of <strong>Navy</strong> Order No. 11/1921 does not apply to <strong>Royal</strong><br />
<strong>Navy</strong> ratings, who are to be credited with Outfit Gratuity irrespective of the<br />
period of their uncompleted engagement in the R.A.N., provided that they<br />
are entitled to the gratuity under the conditions prescribed in Admiralty<br />
Fleet Orders.<br />
5. Paragraph 4 of <strong>Navy</strong> Order No. 11/1921 is hereby cancelled.<br />
