CHARTS S.389G, S.389H AND S.389I.<br />
Copies of Charts S.389G and S.389I, used in connexion with the working<br />
of Navigation Papers I. and II. of previous Higher Educational Test<br />
Examinations, are available at Garden Island, for issue, on demand, to<br />
H.M.A. Ships and Establishments, for the purpose of preparing candidates<br />
in these subjects. •<br />

The following amendment is to be made to <strong>Navy</strong> Order No. 307 of<br />
1922 :—<br />
Omit paragraph 3 and insert in lieu the following :—<br />
"3. Requirements of New South Wales District are to be<br />
included in a demand (A.S. 134D) on the Naval Store Officer,<br />
Garden Island, and dealt with in the same manner as requisitions<br />
of other Districts. The demand is to be forwarded to the Director<br />
of Naval Stores in quintuplicate by the District Naval Officer,<br />
provided he concurs, and funds are certified on demand as being<br />
available. When demand has been approved it will be transmitted,<br />
in triplicate, direct from <strong>Navy</strong> Office to the Naval Store<br />
Officer, Sydney. One copy of the demand will be retained at<br />
<strong>Navy</strong> Office and one copy will be returned to the District Naval<br />
Officer indorsed as to action taken."<br />

RAILWAY WARRANTS—TRAVELLERS ALLOWANCE FOR BOYS<br />
AND RATINGS UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE.<br />
The Naval Board have approved of all Boys and other ratings under<br />
18 years of age, who are proceeding to their homes on Christmas leave, 1922,<br />
being granted 2nd Class Return Railway Warrants or Steerage Steamer<br />
Tickets at Departmental expense. It should be clearly understood that<br />
this concession is confined to the limits of the Commonwealth, and is limited<br />
to rail or steamer fares only. Motor or Coach Fares will not be allowed, except<br />
in the cases of Boys training in H.M.A.S. Tingira, and of Cadet Midshipmen<br />
at the <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Australian</strong> Naval College, and in these cases only when no more<br />
economical means of travelling exists.<br />
2. Travelling Allowance, in advance, will also be payable at the rate of<br />
4s. per diem ; for a portion of a day, Is. for the first six hours, and 6d. for<br />
every subsequent three hours while actually travelling from ship to home,<br />
and from home to ship. No Travelling Allowance is to be paid when the<br />
Boys or other ratings are accommodated in Ships or trains where meals are<br />
provided at the expense of the Department.<br />

<strong>Navy</strong> Order No. 381 of 1922 is to be amended as follows :—For " <strong>Navy</strong><br />
