Copies of Charts S.389G and S.389I, used in connexion with the working
of Navigation Papers I. and II. of previous Higher Educational Test
Examinations, are available at Garden Island, for issue, on demand, to
H.M.A. Ships and Establishments, for the purpose of preparing candidates
in these subjects. •

STATIONERY FOR NAVAL RESERVE DISTRICTS AND
DISTRICTS.

SUB-
The following amendment is to be made to Navy Order No. 307 of
1922 :—
Omit paragraph 3 and insert in lieu the following :—
"3. Requirements of New South Wales District are to be
included in a demand (A.S. 134D) on the Naval Store Officer,
Garden Island, and dealt with in the same manner as requisitions
of other Districts. The demand is to be forwarded to the Director
of Naval Stores in quintuplicate by the District Naval Officer,
provided he concurs, and funds are certified on demand as being
available. When demand has been approved it will be transmitted,
in triplicate, direct from Navy Office to the Naval Store
Officer, Sydney. One copy of the demand will be retained at
Navy Office and one copy will be returned to the District Naval
Officer indorsed as to action taken."

RAILWAY WARRANTS—TRAVELLERS ALLOWANCE FOR BOYS
AND RATINGS UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE.
The Naval Board have approved of all Boys and other ratings under
18 years of age, who are proceeding to their homes on Christmas leave, 1922,
being granted 2nd Class Return Railway Warrants or Steerage Steamer
Tickets at Departmental expense. It should be clearly understood that
this concession is confined to the limits of the Commonwealth, and is limited
to rail or steamer fares only. Motor or Coach Fares will not be allowed, except
in the cases of Boys training in H.M.A.S. Tingira, and of Cadet Midshipmen
at the Royal Australian Naval College, and in these cases only when no more
economical means of travelling exists.
2. Travelling Allowance, in advance, will also be payable at the rate of
4s. per diem ; for a portion of a day, Is. for the first six hours, and 6d. for
every subsequent three hours while actually travelling from ship to home,
and from home to ship. No Travelling Allowance is to be paid when the
Boys or other ratings are accommodated in Ships or trains where meals are
provided at the expense of the Department.

Navy Order No. 381 of 1922 is to be amended as follows :—For " Navy
Order No. 135 of 1921 " in paragraph 2, read " Navy Order No. 135 of
