With reference to <strong>Navy</strong> Order No. 69/1921, the following Summaries<br />
of Torpedo Practices carried out by H.M.A. Fleet during the period from<br />
1st January, 1921, to 30th September, 1921, are published for information.<br />

AMENDMENT OF REGULATIONS AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE"<br />
ROYAL AUSTRALIAN NAVAL RESERVE.<br />
The following amendment of the Regulations and Instructions for the<br />
<strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Australian</strong> Naval Reserve has been approved, with effect as from<br />
1st January, 1922 :—<br />
1. Article 352 is amended by omitting the rates of pay at present<br />
shown for " Commissioned Officer from Warrant Rank " and " Warrant<br />
Officer," and inserting in their stead 15s. and 12s. respectively.<br />

DIRECTOR LAYERS AND GUN LAYERS IN SHIPS IN RESERVE,<br />
HARBOUR SHIPS, AND ESTABLISHMENTS.<br />
All Harbour Ships and Establishments, including Ships in Reserve in which<br />
Director Layers and Gun Layers are borne, are to forward a complete list of<br />
the above ratings borne on the first day of each quarter.<br />
(a) Harbour Ships and Establishments at Sydney. and R.A. Naval<br />
College—To Commodore Superintendent and Senior Naval<br />
Officer.<br />
(b) All other such Ships and Establishments except R.A.N.R. Districts—To<br />
Captain Superintendent of Training.<br />
. The lists are to note—<br />
(a) The last occasion on which each rating carried out a firing practice.<br />
(b) Date on which each rating left last Sea-going Ship.<br />
2. Arrangements are to be made for carrying out the annual practices of<br />
the above Light Director Layers and Gun Layers as laid down in C.M.O. 93/21<br />
and Firing Manual 1921 C.B.924, Chapter II., Part IV. :—<br />
(o) In Gunnery School Tenders.<br />
(b) In H.M.A. Ships during Gunnery Practices in New South Wales.<br />
(Arrangements being made between Commodore Superintendent<br />
and Senior Naval Officer, Sydney, and the Rear Admiral Commanding<br />
H.M.A. Fleet, accordingly).<br />

108.<br />
WARRANT WRITERS AND WARRANT VICTUALLDTG OFFICERS-<br />
PROFESSIONAL EXAMINATION.<br />
With reference to <strong>Navy</strong> Order No. 109/1921, the next Professional Examination<br />
for the rank of Warrant Writer and Warrant Victualling Officer will be<br />
held on Monday, 17th July, 1922.<br />
2. Commanding Officers of all Ships and Establishments should forward<br />
to the <strong>Navy</strong> Office not later than 1st April, 1922, a list of the names of candidates<br />
(stating whether R.N. or R.A.N.) desirous of sitting for this examination.<br />
