The following Commercial Call Signs have been allotted to W.T. Sets<br />

installed at the District Naval' Offices indicated, and should be noted in<br />

" Wireless Board List of Commercial Call Signs " :—<br />

2. These W.T. Sete will) not be used—except, in an emergency—during<br />

peace time for communication with H.M.A. Ships and Fleet Auxiliaries,<br />

but for R.A.N.R. instructional purposes only.<br />

3. Messages from D.N.O.'s to H.M.A. Ships and Fleet- Auxiliaries are,<br />

as hitherto, to^he routed via the nearest Shore Radio Station of the Amalgamated<br />

Wireless Ltd., except at Sydney and Melbourne, where messages<br />

for H.M.A. Ships only should be sent via Navv Office and Garden Island<br />

W.T. Stations.<br />

4. H.M.A. Ships should act likewise in the routing of W.T. Messages for<br />

D.N.O.'s and S.D.N.O.'s.<br />

RAILWAY SERVICE TO CRD3 POINT VICTORIAN RATINGS AND<br />

RECRUITS JOINING FLINDERS NAVAL DEPOT.<br />

With reference to <strong>Navy</strong> Order No. 519 of 1921, the train service to Crib<br />

Point has now been revised. Trains now leave Melbourne for Crib Point<br />

at 5.5 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays weekly, except<br />

between 16th October and 16th December inclusive, when trains leave Melbourne<br />

for Crib Point on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.<br />

2. Ratings and Recruits ordered to join Flinders Naval Depot should be<br />

sent forward to arrive at Melbourne on these days only.<br />

3. <strong>Navy</strong> Order No. 519 of 1921 is hereby cancelled.<br />

TEMPERATURE CORRECTION CHART FOR LEAD SECONDARY<br />

BATTERIES- ERRATUM.<br />

Attention is directed to an error in Example (b) in the above chart issued<br />

with <strong>Navy</strong> Order No. 260 of 1922. These charts are to be corrected by<br />

subtracting instead of adding the temperature correction, i.e., 1"242 should<br />

read 1226.<br />

The Signal Letters '" G Q D B " have been allotted to H.M.A.S. Adelaide,<br />

and should be noted in the latest edition of " Signal Letters of British Ships."<br />

<strong>Navy</strong> Order No. 292/1922 is to be amended by showing the Fixed<br />

Issuing Price of Sardines as 6d. per j lb. tin instead of per 1 lb. tin.<br />

OFFICERS' RECORDS OF' SERVICE.<br />

As in many cases no reports on R.A.N Officers serving in Ships of the<br />

<strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Navy</strong> have been received'inAustralia under the previsions o£'Article<br />

1851, clause 7, of the King's Regulations and' Admiralty- Instructions, such<br />

officers' records of; service are, very insorapletei In o$desithj*'t-thes re .'records<br />

may be made as complete as possible, all officers of the-JEioyal <strong>Australian</strong> <strong>Navy</strong><br />

who have served at any time in ships of the <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Navy</strong> are to forward to<br />

<strong>Navy</strong> Office certified copies of their S.450 Certificates (flimsies) covering such<br />
