DRESSING OF SHIP ON ANNIVERSARY<br />
DAYS.<br />
The Prime Minister's Department has notified that Commonwealth Day,<br />
1st January, is not now observed as a day on which flags are to be flown on<br />
Commonwealth Offices, &c.<br />
2. In conformity with this decision, the Naval Board have approved of<br />
the exclusion of this day from the list of occasions on which H.M.A. Ships<br />
are to be dressed with flags over all.<br />
3. .Article 41, clause (2) of Consolidated <strong>Navy</strong> Orders 1911-1920 is hereby<br />
cancelled.<br />

GUNNERY AND TORPEDO RATINGS—REVISED ARRANGEMENTS.<br />
The revised arrangements regarding Gunnery and Torpedo ratings,<br />
promulgated in Admiralty Fleet Order No. 2046/1922, have been adopted<br />
in the <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Australian</strong> <strong>Navy</strong>, except as regards Clauses (e) and (j), which<br />
are not applicable to the R.A.N.<br />

ENROLMENT OF OFFICERS AND MEN ON COMMONWEALTH AND<br />
STATE ELECTORAL ROLLS.<br />
With reference to <strong>Navy</strong> Order No. 309 of 1921 on the subject of the<br />
enrolment of Officers and Men on Commonwealth and State Electoral Rolls,<br />
it has been decided that, consequent upon the reduction of R.A.N. Sea-going<br />
Ships in Commission, and the re-arrangement of Electoral Districts recently<br />
decided upon by the Commonwealth Government, Officers and Men serving<br />
in Sea-going Ships of H.M.A. Fleet, who have no bond fide place of living on<br />
shore, should enrol on the Commonwealth Electoral Rolls in the Divisions<br />
and Subdivisions indicated in the following table :—<br />

SIGNAL AND W/T RATINGS—QUALIFICATIONS, DUTIES, ETC.<br />
Attention is directed to the provisions of Article 906, K.R. & A.I. {vide<br />
K.R. 16), and A.F.O. 1365/1922 and amending orders, relative to the qualifications,<br />
duties, &c, of the Signal and W/T personnel. Except where modified<br />
by <strong>Navy</strong> Order, the general instructions laid down in these orders are to be<br />
observed in the R.A.N.<br />
2. W/T ratings are not to be employed on any other work than that for<br />
which they are borne.<br />
