AUTHOPJTY OF THE COMMODORE SUPERINTENDENT AND<br />
SENIOR NAVAL OFFICER, NEW SOUTH WALES.<br />
In amplification of Article 19 of Consolidated <strong>Navy</strong> Orders 1911-1920,<br />
the following rules in regard to the functions and command of the Commodore<br />
Superintendent, H.M.A. Naval Establishments, and Senior Naval Officer,<br />
New South Wales, are promulgated for general information and guidance :—<br />
(a) In regard to the control of Naval Establishments in New South<br />
Wales and H.M.A. Ships at Sydney, he will act generally in the<br />
same way as a Commander-in-Chief of a British Home Port.<br />
(Vide Articles 497 to 514, King's Regulations and Admiralty<br />
Instructions.)<br />
(6) In the event of Officers required for Surveys, Visitors for Detention<br />
Quarters, &c, not being available from Ships and Establishments<br />
under his orders, Officers from other Ships in port should be detailed<br />
for the duty (application being made to the CCA.P., if present<br />
at the port, when necessary).<br />
(c) All reports, &c, required by the Regulations to be rendered to the<br />
Admiralty by the Commander-in-Chief of a Home Port are to<br />
be rendered to the Naval Board by the C.S.G.I. direct.<br />

W.T. ORGANIZATION—R.A. NAVAL COLLEGE.<br />
The following organization for W.T. Station at the <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Australian</strong><br />
Naval College is now in operation :—<br />
Watch is normally kept on 600 metres spark calling wave between<br />
the hours of 0730/1145 and 1315/1945, listening in for the following<br />
C.W. transmission periods :—<br />
Navv Office—1030 and 1430.<br />
Garden Island—0730, 1130, 1530, and 1930.<br />
Garden Island will listen in for Naval College on 800 metres spark at<br />
0900, 1315, 1545, and 1900. On Sundays, the regular watch will not<br />
be kept except to listen in for routine ceriods of Garden Island at 0730,<br />
1130, 1530, and 1930.<br />

W.T. ORGANIZATION—NORMAL C.W. CALLING AND WORKING<br />
WAVE FOR H.M.A. SHIPS.<br />
With reference to Admiralty Fleet Order No. " S." 56 of 1922, 3,400 metre<br />
wave has been adopted as the normal C.W. calling and working wave for<br />
H.M.A. Ships and Naval Shore Stations, and also 2,700 and 3,800 metres<br />
C.W. as alternative waves.<br />
2. This alteration in W.T. Organization was brought into force on the<br />
<strong>Australian</strong> Station as from 1200 K., 1st September, 1922.<br />

RECRUITS FOR R.A.N.— PROCEDURE TO BE OBSERVED IN<br />
CASES OF OBVIOUSLY UNFIT APPLICANTS.<br />
When a candidate for entry presents himself and is seen to be suffering<br />
from a marked deformity or other obvious signs of physical unfitness, the<br />
Recruiting Officer may use his discretion as to whether the candidate should<br />
be presented for Medical Examination^<br />
2. Should the Officer in Charge of Recruiting consider that Medical<br />
Examination is unnecessary, he is to record the candidate's name and the<br />
exact condition on which he based his decision.<br />
