(Approved Uh October, 1922, gazetted 5th October, 1922, to come into operation<br />

forthwith, unless otherwise specified herein.)<br />

AMENDMENT OF NAVAL FINANCIAL REGULATIONS.<br />

(Statutory Rules 1920, No. 248, as amended to present date.)<br />

1. Regulation 34 is amended forthwith by omitting from the scale of pay<br />

for Sick Berth Staff in sub-regulation (1), the words " After three years'<br />

service, if passed for 2nd S.B.S." and " After six years' service, if passed for<br />

2nd S.B.S.'' in the third and fourth lines, and inserting in their stead respectively<br />

the words " After three years'service as such, if passed for Ldg. S.B. A."<br />

and " After six years' service as such, if passed for Ldg. S.B.A.".<br />

2. Regulation 38 is amended as from 1st October, 1922, by repealing<br />

sub-regulations (29) and (29A) and inserting in their stead the following subregulation<br />

:—<br />

" (29) Hard Lying Money— • B, ate per Diem.<br />

(a) Torpedo Boats in Commission—To all ratings whilst s. d.<br />

actually living on board .. .. . . 0 6<br />

(b) Sloops engaged on Surveying Work—From date of<br />

arrival on survey ground to date of departure<br />

therefrom, whether with reduced crew or full<br />

complement . . . . . . . . 0 6 "<br />

3. Regulation 65B is amended, as from 1st January, 1922, by omitting the<br />

scale of Uniform Gratuities in sub-regulation (I) and inserting in its stead<br />

the following scale :—<br />

4. Regulation 65c is repealed, as from 1st January, 1922, and the following<br />

regulation is inserted in its stead :—<br />

" 65c. Uniform Gratuities or Promotion or Change of Class of Uniform<br />

Subsequent to Entry.—(1) The following gratuities shall be payable to<br />

members of the Auxiliary Services who are promoted, or are required to<br />

change the class of uniform worn by them, subsequent to entry:—<br />

(a) On promotion to—<br />

Lieutenant £25<br />

Commissioned Officer from Warrant Rank Cost of epaulettes and<br />

necessary alterations<br />

in distinctive lace for<br />

compulsory kit<br />

(b) On change of Uniform—•<br />

Prom Class II. to Class I. (except Senior<br />

Messengers) £10<br />

From Class II. to Class I. (Senior Messengers<br />

* Kxcept as provided in sub-regulation (2).<br />

(2) No gratuity shall be paid on change of uniform from Glass II.<br />

to Class III. or from Class III. to Class II. where such change is in<br />

consequence of the transfer of a member at his own request or owing<br />

to misconduct.<br />

(3) A member of the Permanent Naval Forces (Sea-going) in receipt<br />

of sea-going rates of pay who is lent to the Auxiliary Services shall be<br />

entitled to Uniform Gratuity and Kit Upkeep Allowance at the rates<br />

prescribed in these Regulations for members of the Sea-going Forces."<br />

5. Regulation 78c is repealed as from 1st February, 1922.<br />

6. Regulation 78D is renumbered 78c.<br />

CORRIGENDA.<br />

<strong>Navy</strong> Order No. 292 of 1922 is to be amended as follows :—Paragraph 3,<br />

for " N.O. 203 of 1922 " read " N.O. 203 of 1921."<br />

<strong>Navy</strong> Order No. 112 of 1922 is to be amended as follows :—Parti., para. 3,<br />

line 12, for " A.C.D. No. 538 " read " A.C.D. No. 548."<br />
