CLASSIFICATION OF SHIPS IN RESERVE.<br />
<strong>Navy</strong> Order No. 211 of 1922 is to be amended as follows :—<br />
Class B—<br />
Omit Brisbane and Swordsman.<br />
Add Adelaide and Tasmania.<br />
Class E—<br />
Marguerite—Omit asterisk and corresponding footnote.<br />
Omit Tasmania.<br />
Add Class F—-undergoing long refit, or otherwise not available for<br />
service—<br />
Brisbane and Swordsman.<br />
Omit Note (2).<br />

318.<br />
IMPLEMENT ACCOUNT—PERIOD COVERED BY, AND ISSUES<br />
GENERALLY.<br />
In order that the expenditure of Mess Utensils, &c, may be more closely<br />
kept under observation, it has been decided that, until further notice,<br />
Form A.S. 83, Part III., shall be rendered into Office by all Ships and Establishments<br />
annually as at 31st December. The accounts now current are<br />
therefore to be closed on 31st December, 1922.<br />
2. The procedure for rendering this account as laid down in Clause 1 of<br />
the printed Instructions to Form A.S. 83—Part III. is hereby suspended<br />
pending further instructions.<br />
3. Attention is drawn to the present excessive issues of Mess Utensils,<br />
and it is desired that Commanding Officers take the necessary steps in all Ships<br />
and Establishments to reduce issues, as far as is practicable, to a minimum,<br />
and to meet actual requirements only.<br />
4. In regard to losses and breakages by neglect, the Naval Board direct<br />
that the amount charged against Messes or individuals is on all occasions to<br />
be determined so that financial loss to the Crown will be avoided.<br />

THE THOMAS GERALD GRICE SCHOLARSHIP.<br />
The attention of Commanding Officers and all concerned is drawn to<br />
Article 342 of the Consolidated <strong>Navy</strong> Orders 1911-1920, regarding the Thomas<br />
Gerald Grice Scholarship.<br />
2. The dates of the examination in 1922 are Tuesday, 14th November,<br />
and Wednesday, 15th November.<br />

MISSING TROPHY REFERRED TO IN A.F.O. 1978/22.<br />
Any Officer or man possessing any information m regard to the disposal<br />
of the Challenge Shield, referred to in A.F.O. 1978/22, is requested to communicate<br />
full particulars to his Commanding Officer for transmission to the<br />
Naval Board.<br />

P. & R.T. INSTRUCTORS—QUALIFYING AND RE-QUAIJFYTNG<br />
COURSES FOR.<br />
With reference to <strong>Navy</strong> Order No. 250 of 1922, candidates to qualify<br />
as P. and R.T. Instructor will be selected from Petty Officers and Leading<br />
Seamen passed for Petty Officer, under the same conditions as obtain in the<br />
<strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Navy</strong>, vide Article 400 and Appendix XV., Part II., No. 66 K.R. & A.I.<br />
2. Amended leturns should be forwarded by all Ships and Establishments<br />
direct to the Captain Superintendent of Training, Flinders Naval Depot.<br />
3. Paragraph 2 of <strong>Navy</strong> Order No. 250 of 1922 is cancelled.<br />

SICK VOUCHERS—FORM A.S. 47.<br />
Form A.S. 47 is being adopted in the <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Australian</strong> <strong>Navy</strong> for use in<br />
connexion with cases discharged to Sick Quarters, Garden Island, Naval<br />
Wing, Prince of Wales Hospital, Randwick, and Flinders Naval Hospital.<br />
2 Arrangements will be made for the printing of this form and first<br />
supplies will be made to H.M.A. Ships without demand.<br />
3. This form will be used in all cases sent to the above-named establishments<br />
only.<br />
