ACCUMULATED LEAVE—R.A.N. OFFICERS.<br />

E.A.N. Officers at present in Australia, who are entitled to accumulated<br />

leave earned in respect of service prior to 1st February, 1922, are warned<br />

that, under normal circumstances, such leave will not be permitted to be<br />

carried over beyond the termination of the present leave year, viz., 31st<br />

January, 1923.<br />

2. All leave accumulated prior to 1st February, 1922, and not taken by<br />

31st January, 1923, will be forfeited, unless special Board approval to the<br />

contrary is obtained. Applications to carry forward accumulated leave, as<br />

regards Officers whose cases have not already been specifically dealt with, ,<br />

should reach <strong>Navy</strong> Office not later than 31st December, 1922. Applications<br />

received after that date will not be entertained.<br />

3. Officers who have retired from the R.N. during their service in the<br />

R.A.N., and who while continuing to serve temporarily in the R.A.N., have<br />

retained their right to return passage to the United Kingdom, may carry<br />

forward all leave accumulated to date, and continue to accumulate leave,<br />

in accordance with the Regulations, until the termination of their services<br />

in the R.A.N.<br />

S 328<br />

Engine-room Registers.—Registers of the Sea-going Ships in commission<br />

only (after examination by the Fleet Engineer Officer in the case of ships under<br />

the orders of the C.C.A.F.) are to be sent to <strong>Navy</strong> Office. Registers of Ships<br />

in Reserve are to be retained at Garden Island after examination by the<br />

Engineer Manager.<br />

Captain's Ships' Book (see also Article 1850, K.R. and A.I.).<br />

2. In all cases of ships being under the orders of a Senior Officer, copies of<br />

Logs, Engine-room Registers, &c, are to be forwarded to the Senior Officer.<br />

for transmission to <strong>Navy</strong> Office.<br />

3. Article 114, Consolidated <strong>Navy</strong> Orders 1911-20, is hereby cancelled.<br />

LOCAL PURCHASE OF STORES AT SUB-DISTRICTS—AMENDMENT<br />

OF REGULATIONS AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR ROYAL AUSTRALIAN<br />

NAVAL RESERVE.<br />

The following amendment is to be made to Article 310, Clause 2. of the<br />

Regulations and Instructions for <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Australian</strong> Naval Reserve :—<br />

In the eleventh line after the word " Requisition " insert the words<br />

" in duplicate."<br />

LOGS, ENGINE-ROOM REGISTERS, ETC.<br />

The King's Regulations and Admiralty Instructions (see Chapter XIII.,<br />

Section VIII., as amended), and the Instructions printed in the various logs,<br />

&c, are to be complied with generally, except that—<br />

(a) Documents which are therein directed to be sent to the Admiralty<br />

are to be sent to <strong>Navy</strong> Office, Melbourne.<br />

(b) On ships paying off, logs, &c, will be sent to the Naval Store Officer,<br />

Sydney, instead of being sent to the Deputy Cashier, West<br />

India Docks.<br />

Ships Logs and Monthly Copies thereof (see also Articles 1026 and 1849,<br />

K.R. and A.I.).<br />

NOTE.—Arrangements are being made for Admiralty forms of log and<br />

copy of log to be used in future.<br />
