WELFARE COMMITTEE, 1919—REQUEST No. 93.<br />

With reference to Request No. 93 of the Lower Deck Welfare Committee<br />

1919, viz. :—" Gunners' Mates not to be Gtunlayers 1st Class as well, in<br />

consequence of the alleged impracticability of satisfactorily carrying out<br />

the dual duties," it has now been decided that the existing Regulations are<br />

to be adhered to.<br />

AMENDMENT OF REGULATIONS AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE<br />

ROYAL AUSTRALIAN NAVAL RESERVE.<br />

The following amendment of Appendix II. of the Regulations and Instructions<br />

for the <strong>Royal</strong> <strong>Australian</strong> Naval Reserve, 1922, has been approved :—<br />

Appendix II. (i)—Add after paragraph (ii) (at top of. page 108), the<br />

following note :—<br />

NOTE.—Subject to the requirements to Part II., Sections 2 and<br />

3 of these Regulations, a candidate for the rank of Paymaster Midshipman<br />

will be appointed Paymaster Midshipman (Provisional) on<br />

the recommendation of the Commanding Officer of one of H.M.A.<br />

Ships or Establishments, provided he is a member of the Adult Force<br />

and a vacancy exists on the Appropriation.<br />

Confirmation in rank as Paymaster Midshipman will be dependent<br />

upon the report of the Commanding Officer of the Ship or Establishment<br />

in which the Officer concerned has served for a period of seventeen<br />

days' continuous training.<br />

FORMS A.S. 83, PARTS I., H., AND DX—PROVISION, CLOTHING,<br />

AND IMPLEMENT ACCOUNTS.<br />

The undermentioned alteration is to be made in the Instructions contained<br />

in the above forms, and the revised method for entering the supplies or returns<br />

concerned is to be adopted forthwith in all H.M.A. Ships and Establishments<br />

:—<br />

Cancel instruction 3 and insert in lieu—<br />

" Supplies from, or returns to, the same Victualling Yard, Depot,<br />

&c, are to be entered on separate lines, according to the date of such<br />

supply or return."<br />
