WELFARE COMMITTEE, 1919—REQUEST No. 93.
With reference to Request No. 93 of the Lower Deck Welfare Committee
1919, viz. :—" Gunners' Mates not to be Gtunlayers 1st Class as well, in
consequence of the alleged impracticability of satisfactorily carrying out
the dual duties," it has now been decided that the existing Regulations are
to be adhered to.

AMENDMENT OF REGULATIONS AND INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE
ROYAL AUSTRALIAN NAVAL RESERVE.
The following amendment of Appendix II. of the Regulations and Instructions
for the Royal Australian Naval Reserve, 1922, has been approved :—
Appendix II. (i)—Add after paragraph (ii) (at top of. page 108), the
following note :—
NOTE.—Subject to the requirements to Part II., Sections 2 and
3 of these Regulations, a candidate for the rank of Paymaster Midshipman
will be appointed Paymaster Midshipman (Provisional) on
the recommendation of the Commanding Officer of one of H.M.A.
Ships or Establishments, provided he is a member of the Adult Force
and a vacancy exists on the Appropriation.
Confirmation in rank as Paymaster Midshipman will be dependent
upon the report of the Commanding Officer of the Ship or Establishment
in which the Officer concerned has served for a period of seventeen
days' continuous training.

FORMS A.S. 83, PARTS I., H., AND DX—PROVISION, CLOTHING,
AND IMPLEMENT ACCOUNTS.
The undermentioned alteration is to be made in the Instructions contained
in the above forms, and the revised method for entering the supplies or returns
concerned is to be adopted forthwith in all H.M.A. Ships and Establishments
:—
Cancel instruction 3 and insert in lieu—
" Supplies from, or returns to, the same Victualling Yard, Depot,
&c, are to be entered on separate lines, according to the date of such
supply or return."
