2. Article 76 is omitted and the following is inserted in its stead :—<br />

" 76. Uniform Gratuities on Promotion or Change of Class of<br />

Uniform Subsequent to Entry.<br />

(1) The following gratuities will be payable to members of the<br />

Auxiliary Services who are promoted, or are required to t<br />

change the class of uniform worn by them, subsequent<br />

to entry :—<br />

his own request or owing to misconduct.<br />

(3) Persons lent from the Permanent Naval Forces (Sea-going)<br />

and in receipt of sea-going rates of pay will be entitled<br />

to Uniform Gratuities and Kit Upkeep Allowance as prescribed<br />

for their relative ranks or ratings in the Naval<br />

Financial Regulations."<br />

The publication " Lecture Notes on Elementary Navigation and Chart<br />

Work " by Commander (N) C. A. Merriman, R.N., has been added to the<br />

establishment of Books for H.M.A. Ships and Establishments.<br />

2. This book has been specially prepared for the Navigation 1 Paper of<br />

the Higher Educational Test by Commander Merriman from experience<br />

gained while lecturing at sea.<br />
