Academic Progress Standards for Nursing Programs<br />

To remain in good academic standing, students in nursing programs must not<br />

only satisfy the general academic progress requirements of the <strong>College</strong> but<br />

must also achieve a letter grade of “C” or better in all required nursing<br />

specialty courses and all corequisite courses. Students who do not achieve<br />

this will not be allowed <strong>to</strong> progress and will be subject <strong>to</strong> program<br />

suspension.<br />

Academic Progress Standards for Therapeutic Massage<br />

Program<br />

To remain in good academic standing, students in therapeutic massage<br />

program must not only satisfy the general academic progress requirements of<br />

the <strong>College</strong> but must also achieve a letter grade of “C” or better in all<br />

required Therapeutic Massage specialty courses and all corequisite courses.<br />

In the event that a student withdraws from the program due <strong>to</strong> academic<br />

shortfall or life circumstance, the Therapeutic Massage program follows<br />

these guidelines for readmission:<br />

Students who receive a “C” or better in one portion of the curriculum but<br />

who fail out of or leave the program during subsequent semesters must<br />

demonstrate proficiency in completed courses in order <strong>to</strong> be given credit for<br />

the courses taken earlier.<br />

Recognition of Outstanding Academic Performance<br />

President’s List<br />

The names of students who have achieved a 4.0 grade point average (for all<br />

non-developmental courses attempted) on twelve or more semester hours of<br />

college-level work during the semester will be placed on the President’s List.<br />

Developmental courses (indicated by prefix number 060-095) are not<br />

considered college-level work and will not be included in the computation of<br />

the grade point average for the President’s List. The list will be published<br />

following the reporting of semester grades for the fall and spring academic<br />

semesters.<br />

Dean’s List<br />

The names of students who have achieved a grade point average of 3.5 or<br />

higher (for all non-developmental courses attempted) on twelve or more<br />

semester hours of college-level work during the semester will be placed on<br />

the Dean’s List. The student can have no grade below a “C” on any collegelevel<br />

course. Developmental courses (indicated by prefix number 060-095)<br />

are not considered college-level work and will not be included in the<br />

computation of the grade point average for the Dean’s List. The list will be
