Grading Policies and Procedures<br />

Grading<br />

Grading the performance of students in course work is the responsibility of<br />

individual faculty members.<br />

Grade Categories for Completing a Course<br />

Categories of institutional grades and symbols for students who have met<br />

minimum course requirements are as follows:<br />

Superior A superior academic performance<br />

Good B Good academic performance<br />

Average C Average academic performance. Students in zeroprefix<br />

courses must earn a “C” or better <strong>to</strong> enter<br />

subsequent developmental or curriculum course(s).<br />

Passing D Academic performance that has met minimum<br />

course requirements and that will allow students <strong>to</strong><br />

enter the subsequent course or courses in a series,<br />

unless a higher grade is specified in the course<br />

prerequisite. Students who make a “D” grade in a<br />

zero-prefix course may not progress <strong>to</strong> the next<br />

course.<br />

F<br />

Student performance judged <strong>to</strong> require repetition<br />

of the course. Students who make an “F” grade in<br />

a zero-prefix course may not progress <strong>to</strong> the next<br />

course.<br />

Drop DR Courses dropped during the first 10% of the class<br />

will not appear on the transcript. Between the 10%<br />

and 65% date, the class will be listed on the<br />

transcript as “DR.”<br />

Withdraw WP Used <strong>to</strong> indicate that a student currently passing a
