This course covers the planning aspects of residential subdivisions from analysis of<br />

owner and municipal requirements <strong>to</strong> plat layout and design. Topics include<br />

municipal codes, lot sizing, roads, incidental drainage, esthetic considerations, and<br />

other related <strong>to</strong>pics. Upon completion, students should be able <strong>to</strong> prepare a set of<br />

SRV-240 Topo/Site Surveying 4 (2-6) S<br />

Prerequisites: SRV-110<br />

Corequisites: None<br />

This course covers <strong>to</strong>pographic, site, and construction surveying. Topics include<br />

<strong>to</strong>pographic mapping, earthwork, site planning, construction staking, and other<br />

related <strong>to</strong>pics. Upon completion, students should be able <strong>to</strong> prepare <strong>to</strong>pographic maps<br />

and site plans and locate and stake out construction projects. The course also includes<br />

an introduction <strong>to</strong> pho<strong>to</strong>grammetry. (1997 SU)<br />

This course covers advanced <strong>to</strong>pics in surveying. Topics include pho<strong>to</strong>grammetry,<br />

astronomical observations, coordinate systems, error theory, GPS, GIS, Public Land<br />

System, and other related <strong>to</strong>pics. Upon completion, students should be able <strong>to</strong> apply<br />

advanced techniques <strong>to</strong> the solution of complex surveying problems. (1997 SU)<br />

SRV-260 Field & Office Practices 2 (1-3) F<br />

Prerequisites: None<br />

Corequisites: None<br />

This course covers surveying project management, estimating, and responsibilities of<br />

surveying personnel. Topics include record-keeping, starting and operating a<br />

surveying business, contracts, regulations, taxes, personnel management, and<br />

professional ethics. Upon completion, students should be able <strong>to</strong> understand the<br />

requirements of operating a professional land surveying business. (1997 SU)<br />

Admission <strong>to</strong> the Surgical Technology program is required before enrolling<br />

SUR-110 Intro <strong>to</strong> Surgical Technology 3 (3-0) F<br />

Corequisites: SUR-111<br />

This course provides a comprehensive study of peri-operative care, patient care<br />

concepts, and professional practice concepts within the profession of surgical<br />

technology. Topics include: introduc<strong>to</strong>ry concepts, organizational structure and<br />

relationships, legal, ethical and moral issues, medical terminology, pharmacology,<br />

anesthesia, wound healing management concepts, and the technological sciences.<br />

Upon completion, students should be able <strong>to</strong> apply theoretical knowledge of the<br />

course <strong>to</strong>pics <strong>to</strong> the practice of surgical technology. (2012 SP)
