PED-137 Badmin<strong>to</strong>n 1 (0-2) AND<br />

This course covers the fundamentals of badmin<strong>to</strong>n. Emphasis is placed on the basics<br />

of serving, clears, drops, drives, smashes, and the rules and strategies of singles and<br />

doubles. Upon completion, students should be able <strong>to</strong> apply these skills in playing<br />

situations. This course has been approved <strong>to</strong> satisfy the Comprehensive Articulation<br />

Agreement for transferability as a premajor and/or elective course requirement for<br />

the A.A., A.F.A., and A.S. degrees. (1997 SU)<br />

PED-138 Archery 1 (0-2) AND<br />

Prerequisites: None<br />

Corequisites: None<br />

This course introduces basic archery safety and skills. Topics include proper<br />

techniques of stance, bracing, drawing, and releasing as well as terminology and<br />

scoring. Upon completion, students should be able <strong>to</strong> participate safely in target<br />

archery. This course has been approved <strong>to</strong> satisfy the Comprehensive Articulation<br />

Agreement for transferability as a premajor and/or elective course requirement for<br />

PED-141 Tumbling and Gymnastics 1 (0-2) AND<br />

This course introduces basic tumbling and gymnastic techniques. Topics include the<br />

safe use of gymnastic apparatus such as uneven bars, parallel bars, pommel horse,<br />

and balance beam. Upon completion, students should be able <strong>to</strong> demonstrate skills on<br />

selected pieces of apparatus. This course has been approved <strong>to</strong> satisfy the<br />

Comprehensive Articulation Agreement for transferability as a premajor and/or<br />

PED-142 Lifetime Sports 1 (0-2) AND<br />

This course is designed <strong>to</strong> give an overview of a variety of sports activities. Emphasis<br />

is placed on the skills and rules necessary <strong>to</strong> participate in a variety of lifetime sports.<br />

Upon completion, students should be able <strong>to</strong> demonstrate an awareness of the<br />

importance of participating in lifetime sports activities. This course has been<br />

approved <strong>to</strong> satisfy the Comprehensive Articulation Agreement for transferability as<br />

volleyball. This course has been approved for transfer under the Comprehensive<br />

Articulation Agreement as a premajor and/or elective course requirement for the<br />
