This course provides a study of the effects of ideologies, trade, armaments, and<br />

alliances on relations among nation-states. Emphasis is placed on regional and global<br />

cooperation and conflict, economic development, trade, non-governmental<br />

organizations, and international institutions such as the World Court and UN. Upon<br />

completion, students should be able <strong>to</strong> identify and discuss major international<br />

relationships, institutions, and problems. This course has been approved for transfer<br />

This course is a survey of scientific principles, methodologies, and research as<br />

applied <strong>to</strong> exercise and physical adaptations <strong>to</strong> exercise. Topics include the basic<br />

elements of kinesiology, biomechanics, and mo<strong>to</strong>r learning. Upon completion,<br />

students should be able <strong>to</strong> identify and describe physiological responses and<br />

This course introduces the student <strong>to</strong> graded exercise testing. Topics include various<br />

exercise testing pro<strong>to</strong>cols with methods for prescribing exercise programs based on<br />

exercise <strong>to</strong>lerance tests and the use of various equipment and pro<strong>to</strong>cols. Upon<br />

completion, students should be able <strong>to</strong> conduct specific exercise tests and the use of<br />

This course provides information about the care and prevention of exercise injuries.<br />

Topics include proper procedures, prevention techniques, and on-site care of injuries.<br />

Upon completion, students should be able <strong>to</strong> demonstrate the knowledge and skills<br />

necessary <strong>to</strong> prevent and care for exercise related injuries. (2009 FA)
