This course provides the principles of conventional film-screen radiography.<br />

Emphasis is placed on the fac<strong>to</strong>rs that impact density, contrast, recorded detail, and<br />

dis<strong>to</strong>rtion. Upon completion, students should be able <strong>to</strong> demonstrate an understanding<br />

RAD-122 Radiographic Imaging II 2 (1-3) SS<br />

Prerequisites: RAD-112, RAD-121, RAD-161<br />

This course provides advanced principles of imaging including digital radiography.<br />

Emphasis is placed on the fac<strong>to</strong>rs that impact brightness, contrast, recorded detail,<br />

and dis<strong>to</strong>rtion. Upon completion, students should be able <strong>to</strong> demonstrate an<br />

RAD-131 Radiographic Physics I 2 (1-3) SS<br />

This course introduces the principles of radiation characteristics and production.<br />

Emphasis is placed on imaging equipment. Upon completion, students should be able<br />

<strong>to</strong> demonstrate a basic understanding of radiation characteristics and production.<br />

RAD-151 RAD Clinical Ed I 2 (0-6) F<br />

Prerequisites: None<br />

Corequisites: RAD-110 and RAD-111<br />

This course introduces patient management and basic radiographic procedures in the<br />

clinical setting. Emphasis is placed on mastering positioning of the chest and<br />

extremities, manipulating equipment, and applying principles of ALARA. Upon<br />

completion, students should be able <strong>to</strong> demonstrate successful completion of clinical<br />

RAD-161 RAD Clinical Ed II 5 (0-15) S<br />

Prerequisites: RAD-110, RAD-111, RAD-151<br />

Corequisites: RAD-112 and RAD-121<br />

This course provides additional experience in patient management and in more<br />

complex radiographic procedures. Emphasis is placed on mastering positioning of the<br />

spine, pelvis, head and neck, and thorax and adapting procedures <strong>to</strong> meet patient<br />

variations. Upon completion, students should be able <strong>to</strong> demonstrate successful<br />
