Institutional Self Evaluation – 12-05-12<br />

Writing Teams: Six writing teams were established to develop drafts of sections that would<br />

focus on the introduction and the four standards. Co-chairs consisted of a faculty member and<br />

administrator for each standard writing team; co-chairs for the introduction writing team<br />

included a faculty member and staff person. Due to the intensive work required in writing<br />

Standard II (Student Learning Programs and Services), assignments were bifurcated into IIA&C<br />

and IIB, resulting in two writing teams for that standard. Faculty co-chairs received 12 hours of<br />

flextime (professional development) for both academic years (2011-12 and 2012-13); faculty<br />

team members received 6 hours in the first year. Participating faculty co-chairs were paid a<br />

stipend over the summer 2012 period to ensure continuity and to complete necessary work.<br />

Co-chairs called team meetings and/or conferred with individual members according to work<br />

style and as required to fulfill their charge. As a result, team members varied in the level and<br />

intensity of their participation. President Helm and subsequently President Lewallen assigned<br />

responsibility to specific administrators in Summer and Fall 2012, respectively, to assist in<br />

reviewing and ensuring completion of various draft sections. Below is a comprehensive list of<br />

writing team membership as of October 2012. (A = Administrator, B = Board member, F =<br />

Faculty member, CS = Classified Staff, including confidentials and supervisors, * = no longer at<br />

the college as of October 2012).<br />
