Consumers have shown a slow but gradual increase thepast 10 years. Consumers have increased from 22 in 1974 to the present33 in 1978. Consumers were projected to increase during the future10-year period at approximately one-half the rate previously experienced.Over 350 kVAThe system presently serves 4 loads in excess of 350 kVA, namely:1. Valdez Memorial Hospital2. Valdez City Schools3. Fluor Staff Housing4. Farm and Sea of AlaskaThe Fluor Staff Housing load consists of a housing development whichis presently being reclassified to residential. 54 units have beencompletely removed from the area, 28 have already been reclassified in1978 and the remaining 118 units are scheduled to be transferred during1979 and 1980. Therefore, this load has been phased out of operationafter 1980.Farm and Sea of Alaska is a new load which was connected February 2,1979. No historical data is available for this load. Estimates havebeen prepared based on information supplied by the consumer.A potential load which exists, but has not been'considered in theestimates, is the expansion of the Valdez City Dock. The bond issue forthe port facilities is sCheduled to go before the voters April 10, 1979and, if approved, construction would begin in early 1980. Completion ofthe dock facilities would be expected in 1981.8-20
