2.3.1 HYANNIS TRANSPORTATION CENTERThe Hyannis <strong>Transportation</strong> Center was built in 2002 as a hub for <strong>Cape</strong> <strong>Cod</strong>’stransportation needs. The building is a two story, 17,000 square foot facility located nearthe intersection of Main Street and Center Street in Hyannis at the end of the rail tracks.The property has entrances from Route 28, Center Street, and Ridgewood Avenue. Thefacility includes a bus terminal and a connection to the <strong>Cape</strong> <strong>Cod</strong> Central Railroadterminal. Additionally, there is parking space available for 220 cars on an eight-acre lot.The building itself is owned and operated by the <strong>Cape</strong> <strong>Cod</strong> <strong>Regional</strong> Transit Authority(CCRTA). The Hyannis <strong>Transportation</strong> is open 7 days a week, excepting holidays, fromearly morning to 8:30pm. Inside, travelers are offered several amenities, such as Wi-Fiinternet, vending machines, an ATM, and restrooms. Route maps are posted throughoutthe facility and announcements of arrivals and departures are made over the loudspeaker system.
