2.2.2 ROAD INFRASTRUCTURE<strong>Cape</strong> <strong>Cod</strong>’s three major routes, Route 6, Route 28, and Route 6A, comprise only 5.7% of<strong>Cape</strong> <strong>Cod</strong>’s roads by mileage. The majority (78.1%) of <strong>Cape</strong> <strong>Cod</strong> roads are designated asFunctional Class “0,” or local roads. 6.2% of roads are classified as minor or major“Collector” roadways. This means that just over two-tenths of <strong>Cape</strong> <strong>Cod</strong>’s roadways areused as primary routes of travel, while the remaining nearly eight-tenths are used toaccess residential and other private areas.
