The Army Corps of Engineersbegan construction work in the harbor in 1957. Falmouth Harbor is 17 acres in area and10 feet deep, with a 100-foot wide entrance channel. It is currently used as a terminal forferries and charter tours, as well as for fishing and recreation.2.5.1.5 Saquatucket Harbor (Harwichport)Saquatucket Harbor in Harwich serves the Lower <strong>Cape</strong> (Figure 6). The harbor has a 12-foot deep, 200-foot long channel leading to a 12-foot deep anchorage. The Coast Guardmaintains a station at this facility. Accessible from Route 28 in Harwichport, the harboris a terminal for ferry service, tour boats, commercial fishing and recreational use.FIGURE 6: SAQUATUCKETHARBORFIGURE 7: WELLFLEET HARBOR2.5.1.6 Wellfleet HarborWellfleet Harbor is located at the mouth of Duck Creek, just south of Wellfleet Center(Figure 7).
