These tracks are out of service and notusable by train. Vegetation has encroached upon the rail tracks, crossing signals havebeen left in disrepair, and road crossings have been paved over (Figure 24, Figure 25and Figure 26). MassDOT has sold the right-of-way to the Town of Falmouth to beconverted to an extension of the Shining Sea Bike Path. In total, the segment contains5.82 miles of track, a bog sluiceway north of Fox Lane, 4 grade separated roadwaycrossings, and 14 road crossings.Originally, the Woods Hole Line continued south with stations at Depot Street and thecurrent Steamship Authority port at Woods Hole. Originally built in 1872, this section ofthe Woods Hole line has been dismantled.
