Legambiente - Mare monstrum 2002 4. E la nave va: l’illegalità del “popolo dei naviganti” Non gli piace indossare il giubbotto salvagente. Naviga dove non è consentito e a velocità sostenuta. Usa l’acquascooter dove non può. Non si preoccupa delle aree protette marine. Sembra questo l’identikit del “popolo dei naviganti” del Belpaese, stando ai numeri sulle infrazioni alla normativa da diporto fornite a Legambiente da forze dell’ordine e Capitanerie di porto. I reati in questo settore sono per il secondo anno consecutivo in netta crescita: 9009 in totale nel 2001, mentre erano state 7.440 nel ’99 e 8524 nel 2000. Anche i numeri delle persone denunciate o arrestate (1.022) e dei sequestri (1.156) sono in forte aumento rispetto all’anno precedente (nel 2000 erano state rispettivamente 603 e 752). Nella classifica regionale la Sicilia si conferma al primo posto con 1.919 infrazioni accertate, 66 tra denunciati e arrestati e 65 sequestri compiuti dalle forze dell’ordine. La Campania è al secondo posto con 1.202 reati (era terza nel 2000), mentre la Liguria sale sul podio dell’illegalità della navigazione in mare con 877 infrazioni alla normativa da diporto (si era classificata quinta nel 2000). Il Lazio scende dal secondo posto del 2000 al sesto dell’anno scorso, mentre la Calabria sale al settimo posto con 641 reati (era undicesima nello scorso dossier).
