EVIL CONDUCT. 93
" Not ^ in the void of heaven, not in the depths
of the sea, not by entering the rocky clefts of the
mountains, in none of these places can a man by
any means escape his destiny, the consequence of
the evil he has done. All men are liable to sorrow
and pain ; none can escape old age and death. The
virtuous man alone possessed of wisdom ; the man
who gives not way to busy thoughts (about life),
for him alone there is no evil."
In consequence of this sermon, countless men who heard
it were able to enter the paths.
^ Compaue ver. 127 of the F&li.
