many discontinuous clay films on faces <strong>of</strong> peds; common fine and medium<br />

concretions <strong>of</strong> iron and manganese; 20 percent shale and siltstone channers;<br />

strongly acid; gradual wavy boundary.<br />

Bt3—36 to 45 inches; yellowish brown (10YR 5/6) very channery loam; common fine<br />

and medium light brownish gray (10YR 6/2) redox depletions; weak medium and<br />

coarse subangular blocky structure; firm; few medium roots; common<br />

discontinuous clay films on faces <strong>of</strong> peds; common fine and medium concretions<br />

<strong>of</strong> iron and manganese; 35 percent shale and siltstone channers; strongly acid;<br />

gradual wavy boundary.<br />

BC—45 to 52 inches; yellowish brown (10YR 5/6) very channery loam; many medium<br />

light brownish gray (10YR 6/2) redox depletions; weak coarse subangular blocky<br />

structure; firm; few medium roots; common fine and medium concretions <strong>of</strong> iron<br />

and manganese; 40 percent shale and siltstone channers; strongly acid; gradual<br />

wavy boundary.<br />

C—52 to 65 inches; strong brown (7.5YR 5/6) and light gray (10YR 7/1) extremely<br />

channery loam; massive; friable; common concretions <strong>of</strong> manganese and iron;<br />

60 percent shale and siltstone channers; strongly acid.<br />

Depth to bedrock: More than 60 inches<br />

Reaction: Very strongly acid to moderately acid throughout<br />

Content <strong>of</strong> rock fragments: 10 to 30 percent in the A and BA horizons; 15 to<br />

60 percent in the Bt, BC, and C horizons; averages 15 to 35 percent in the<br />
