A1—0 to 5 inches; very dark grayish brown (10YR 3/2) silt loam, brown (10YR 4/3)
dry; weak fine granular structure; very friable; common fine roots; neutral; clear
smooth boundary.
A2—5 to 18 inches; dark brown (10YR 3/3) loam, brown (10YR 4/3) dry; strata
(0.5 inch) of dark yellowish brown (10YR 4/4) loamy fine sand; weak medium
granular structure; very friable; few fine roots; slightly acid; gradual smooth
boundary.
C1—18 to 40 inches; yellowish brown (10YR 5/4) sandy loam; massive; very friable;
common dark yellowish brown (10YR 4/4) sand bedding planes; 3 percent coal
