Erosion is a severe hazard in unprotected areas.<br />

Crop rotations that include grasses and legumes, a conservation tillage system,<br />

grassed waterways, and cover crops help to control water erosion.<br />

Pasture and Hayland<br />

Suitability: Suited<br />

Management considerations:<br />

Erosion is a severe hazard if the sod is removed by overgrazing.<br />

The operation <strong>of</strong> conventional equipment used in clipping and applying fertilizer is<br />

difficult because <strong>of</strong> the slope.<br />

Proper stocking rates, uniform distribution <strong>of</strong> grazing, and a planned grazing system<br />

help to keep the pasture in good condition.<br />
