Prodigies between 218 and 44 BCE<br />

In this appendix the prodigies <strong>in</strong> the sources are recorded as paraphrases with<br />

specification <strong>of</strong> year and place. <strong>The</strong>re are cases <strong>of</strong> doubt as to whether it is a prodigy<br />

or an omen, or whether a prodigy should be counted as one or two. <strong>The</strong>se are<br />

however not very frequent and should not significantly alter the overall number <strong>of</strong><br />

prodigies. Such cases are mentioned <strong>in</strong> the notes.<br />
