in the century of Flavius Caralitanus, selected for the praetorian guard<br />
of our Lords from Legion VI Ferrata, Faithful Steadfast, honourably<br />
discharged on 7 January, in the consulship of our Lords, Emperor<br />
Antoninus Pius Augustus for the third time and Geta, most noble Caesar,<br />
for the second time.<br />
This man was transferred into the praetorian guard during Severus’ reign,<br />
illustrating the practice of recruitment from serving legionaries.<br />

clerkships, and other posts of limited responsibility as in the legions.<br />
