1 Require that each consignment be certified as Tasmanian origin by an authorized official of Tasmania, <strong>and</strong> that each container<br />

be marked to identify it as being of Tasmanian origin.<br />

2 Consignments of apples <strong>and</strong> pears must be precleared <strong>and</strong> accompanied by an original PPQ Form 203 completed <strong>and</strong> signed<br />

by the APHIS officer in Australia. Currently, only apples <strong>and</strong> pears from the Goulburn Valley are authorized for preclearance.<br />

3 If treatment has not been completed before entry, HOLD the consignment <strong>and</strong> CONTACT PPQ through proper channels. The<br />

fruits or vegetables may arrive in the U.S. only:<br />

At ports located north of 39 o latitude <strong>and</strong> east of 104 o longitude<br />

At ports that have approved cold treatment facilities (refer to the PPQ Treatment <strong>Manual</strong> for a list of current approved cold<br />

treatment facilities<br />

4 If the light-brown apple moth is intercepted, require T101-a-1. HOLD consignment <strong>and</strong> CONTACT PPQ through proper<br />

channels.<br />

5 (Endive) Require a phytosanitary certificate issued by the Australian State Department of Agriculture (or Queensl<strong>and</strong><br />

Department of Primary Industries) affirming the commodity was produced in an area free from the red-legged earth mite,<br />

Halotydeus destructor (Tucker).<br />

6 Consignments of cherries must be accompanied by phytosanitary certificate issued by an Australian State Department of<br />

Agriculture (or Queensl<strong>and</strong> Department of Primary Industries) certifying that the fruit either received the required treatment or<br />

originated from a fruit fly free area. The <strong>Phytosanitary</strong> Certificate must also include an additional declaration that states: “The<br />

fruit in this consignment was inspected <strong>and</strong> found free of Epiphyas postvittana.”<br />

Check the "ORIGIN" block on the phytosanitary certificate to determine the Australian state in which the commodity was grown.<br />

The treatment depends on the state in which the cherries were grown.<br />

If the consignment was grown in Eastern Australia (defined as the Northern Territory, Queensl<strong>and</strong>, South Australia, New South<br />

Wales, <strong>and</strong> Victoria),it could be treated using T107-d-1,T108-a-1, T108-a-2, or T108-a-3 (However, there are no preclearance<br />

programs in Australia at this time. Therefore, fumigation can be conducted as a port of entry treatment ONLY.)<br />

If the consignment was grown in Western Australia,it could be treated using T101-s-1-1,T108-a-1, T108-a-2, or T108-a-3 (However,<br />

there are no preclearance programs in Australia at this time. Therefore, fumigation can be conducted as a port of entry<br />

treatment ONLY.)<br />
